I know this is maybe old news but I’ve just read this article and am deeply shocked at Jason’s death. I think I was the first, if not one of the first people Jay tattooed back in 1994. Ayesha will remember it – he tattooed me in his flat in Westbourne Grove and it took 4/5 hours. It was my first tat and it was on my ankle and it HURT! But both Ayesha and Jay kept me going through the pain. I’ve been trying to track Jason down as I was hoping to get some more ink done on my arm. I remember back in 1994 Jay was describing the Chinese style sleeve’s that are more common now – a testament to his arts. I’ve not kept in touch with any of Jay’s old friend’s – Mike (aka Area), Ayesha, Alex (+his brother Matt), etc., and so not sure whether Jason was married/kids, etc. but if he did, I’d just like to say what a top guy I remember him to be. He really was such a nice guy and I’m sure not single person will have anything bad to say about him. Deeply sorry he’s passed away. My thoughts are with his family.
